• Sign into blogspot.com using your school email account. If you're reading this you are already signed in because its another google app - ie. mnguyen12@bisvietnam.net.

• Change Language to English using the pull down menu at the top right

• Select the ‘Try the updated Blogger interface’ near the top-right

• Click ‘New Blog’

• Next you will be asked to enter a Title and Address. To make it easier to keep track of everones blogs it’s simpler if we all follow the same naming convention. Replacing with your own name, use exactly the same naming as these (remember to be careful with punctuation, spaces and capitals… 

• Title – Richard’s IBVA Gallery, BIS Vietnam 
• Address – richardibvagallerybisv.blogspot.com

• Hit the ‘Create Blog’ button

• Your new blog will now be listed in your blog list. There are a few more settings to change before you start posting so click on the link to your blog ie.  Richard’s IBVA Gallery, BIS Vietnam

• Select ‘Template’ from the list of options on the left

• There are 7 styles under ‘Dynamic Views’. Choose the second one along which is called ‘Magazine’. Apply this this template to your blog

• Select ‘Settings’ from the list of options on the left (underneath template) to expand the sub-list. You will only need to check the first two.

• Basic
• Title – Check this is correct ie. Richard’s IBVA Gallery, BIS Vietnam
• Description – add one if you like
• Privacy – leave as default ie. listed and visible
• Blog Address – Check this is correct ie. richardibvagallerybisv.blogspot.com
• Blog Authors – Check this is your school email ie. ends with @bisvietnam.net
• Blog Readers – leave as default – Anyone
• Save Changes

• Posts and comments
• Show at most – Change to 20 posts on the main page
• Post Template – do nothing
• Show Comments – leave as default ie ‘Show’
• Who can comment – change to ‘User with Google Accounts’ 
• Comment Moderation – default ie ‘Never’ 
• Show Backlinks – ignore
• Comment Form Message -  do nothing (keep it simple)
• Save Changes

• Mobile and email – ignore

• Language and formatting – check it's set to UK

• Other – ignore

• Click ‘New Post’ and an editing window will open.  When finished, you must click Publish to add it to your blog. Or, if you’re not ready yet, then click save and close. You can return later, finish it and publish. 

• Start your gallery with your first piece of studio work. Each additional piece of studio work will have its own new post. You should write a brief statement summarising your ideas for each piece of work, this may be supplemented with images of pages scanned/photographed from your sketchbook.

• Now View Blog to see your blog. The URL (web address) of your blog should be richardibvagallerybisv.blogspot.com. Copy this address and email it to everyone in your class as well as to me.

• When you receive an email from other class members you should join them as a follower.

• To do this you must go to you blog dashboard. If viewing your blog this is the house icon.
• Scroll down to Reading List and click the Add button
• Paste the address of you classmates blog into the Add fromURL box
• Check that ‘following option’ is set to follow publicly as you@bisvietnam.net
• Click ‘Follow’ and the blog should now be listed in your reading list
